The Scanned People project incorporates many of the skills I have developed throughout my career and is a prime example of my ability to cultivate and refine a concept into a finished product. I worked autonomously to actualise the hardware, develop workflow procedures and design the brand identity along with all of the marketing material. The bespoke hardware solution I have created for Scanned People uses a range of cutting edge technologies.

3D Scanner
There were many considerations taken into account for the design and production of a portable 3D scanner that has the capacity to easily and instantly scan several people at once. The scanner required at least 100 cameras along with all of the networking and power components to run them, which I sourced and acquired in tandem with 3D modeling the towers to accommodate all of these elements. FDM 3D printing was the method of fabrication chosen for the bespoke scanner parts because it provides quick turn around times for prototyping and iterating while being able to incorporate complex geometry and have a high degree of strength.

Brand and Marketing
It was necessary for the corporate identity of Scanned People to represent human life, while still adhering to current design language conventions used by modern digital businesses. This direction was constantly in mind while designing all of the branding and marketing materials. A green gradient is featured prominently as it’s the colour most commonly associated with life. Using the scanner I captured and processed many 3D scans of people to use in the promotional imagery. This had dual benefits of exhibiting the finished products as well as adding life to the marketing material.

Websites
The Scanned People stock assets website had several niche feature requirements in relation to the e-commerce platform that needed to be researched and integrated. Secure downloads and payment options that do not record any payment information on the site itself along with subscription plans that carry various download limitations. All of these features were implemented to create a secure environment and shopping experience for both the user and the store owner.
I also developed an additional website that was focused on providing scanning services. Both websites were designed to fit within the constraints of the brand identity. Using the workflow procedures I developed, 3D scans were captured and processed for use in the imagery throughout the websites.
